FUNDRAISING

The club, through its fundraising effort, is able to provide some £15,000 per year for use on welfare projects in the local community and in the wider international community.

This money is raised by a variety of means, including pub raffles, charity collections at local supermarkets, table top sales and stalls at local shows. However the main bulk of our funds are raised from two major events - an annual Race Night and an annual fireworks display. For details of the latter two events please click on "Major Events"

In 2007 the Race Night was held in the hospitality suite at Port Vale F.C.. Over 150 guests enjoyed a of racing, with good food and good company. Several hundred pounds was raised to enable special needs athletes to attend the 2007 world games in Shanghai.

Another event in 2007 was also held at Port Vale - a Casino Night on 9th. February. Over 100 guests enjoyed playing the tables with "toy town" money and were delighted with the excellent carvery. Over two thousand pounds was raised for good causes.

An extra event undertaken in 2008 was a one day Carnival in Tunstall Victoria Park, on Sunday 27th. July. This event, blessed with good weather, was very successful, providing an excellent day out for some 6,000 local residents. This event, with quality professional entertainment, will be repeated on Sunday 26th.July 2009.
